The Black Bay Chrono Carbon 26 picks up where last year’s Carbon 25 left off — a full carbon fiber racing chronograph that pays direct homage to the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls Formula 1 car, this time the VCARB 03 for the 2026 season. The car has been tweaked and so has the watch.
The Black Bay Chrono Carbon 26 retains the lightweight carbon fiber case, the column wheel Manufacture Chronograph Calibre, and the motorsport DNA that has defined Tudor’s relationship with racing since the 1960s, but the new detail is the yellow — pulled from the VCARB 03 engine cowling and applied to the domed “racing white” dial with the precision that separates a livery tribute from a gimmick. Limited to 2,026 individually numbered examples.
Inside the Black Bay Chrono Carbon 26 Case and Dial
The Black Bay Chrono Carbon 26 runs a 42mm carbon fiber case with a fixed carbon fiber bezel carrying a tachymetric scale — both bezel and case one piece, no inserts. Even the end-links that attach the hybrid leather-rubber strap to the case are rendered in carbon fiber, and the dial construction layers brass discs with carbon fiber sheets to create sub-counters and a date window surround that read as integral to the material rather than applied on top of it.
The “Snowflake” hands — a Tudor signature since 1969 — are outlined in black with Grade A Swiss Super-LumiNova. The titanium case back carries a PVD finish with custom “Carbon 26” engraving and individual numbering. PVD titanium pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock are inspired by the first generation of Tudor chronographs from 1970.
The Manufacture Calibre Powering the Black Bay Chrono Carbon 26
The Black Bay Chrono Carbon 26 is powered by Manufacture Calibre MT5813 — a movement derived from the Breitling B01 with a Tudor-exclusive regulating organ and finishes. It runs a silicon balance spring, delivers a 70-hour power reserve, and is COSC certified with Tudor applying a tighter tolerance than the institute requires: minus two to plus four seconds per day against the standard minus four to plus six. The architecture is column wheel with vertical clutch — the combination that delivers the cleanest chronograph engagement — with 41 jewels at 28,800 beats per hour. The tungsten monobloc rotor is openwork and satin-brushed with sand-blasted details, and the bridges alternate sand-blasted and polished surfaces with laser decorations.
Racing Heritage and the Black Bay Chrono Carbon 26 on Track
Tudor’s motorsport lineage runs deeper than most watch brands acknowledge. In the late 1960s, Tudor campaigned a Porsche 906 in Japan with drivers wearing Tudor on their wrists. The first Tudor chronograph — the Oysterdate — arrived in 1970 and was immediately adopted by the racing world. For the 2026 season, Liam Lawson and rookie Arvid Lindblad wear the Black Bay Chrono Carbon 26 as part of the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls partnership. The watch is waterproof to 200 meters, which has nothing to do with racing and everything to do with the Black Bay’s identity as a tool watch that does not compromise function for aesthetics.
