The automotive world is about to witness a breakthrough in performance engineering with Hennessey Performance Engineering’s (HPE) latest creation, the Demon 1700 Twin-Turbo. With only 12 units available, each starting at a whopping $200,000 (excluding the donor Dodge Demon 170), the Demon 1700 Twin-Turbo is a statement of extreme capability and exclusivity.
For over three decades, Hennessey has been known for its high-performance vehicle modification, and the Demon 1700 Twin-Turbo is the latest example of its prowess. This extraordinary vehicle is a product of Hennessey Special Operations (HSO), a bespoke in-house department dedicated to crafting ultra-exclusive, high-horsepower vehicles. With Hennessey’s growing demand, the company is focusing on meeting the needs of its discerning customers with HSO, which will produce only 15 to 20 vehicles per year.

John Hennessey, the Founder & CEO of HPE, highlights the shift from being a high-volume tuning company to a more specialized manufacturer. The creation of the HSO division signifies a return to Hennessey’s ethos of building mega-powerful vehicles in small production runs. This production is a perfect example of this shift, boasting an increase in power from the original 1,025 to an astonishing 1,700 horsepower.
It’s not just about power; it is a masterpiece of engineering and design. The vehicle features an all-new blueprinted motor and transmission, replacing the factory-supercharged V8 from the Demon 170 with a pair of massive turbochargers. The robust powertrain ensures that the maximum power is effectively translated to the pavement. Burning E85 ethanol, the Demon 1700 Twin-Turbo aims for a jaw-dropping ¼ mile time of 7.9 seconds at speeds exceeding 175 mph.

The exclusivity and uniqueness of each unit are highlighted by the limited production run of only 12 models. Priced at around $200,000, exclusive of the donor Demon 170, these machines are destined for a select group of automotive enthusiasts and collectors.
The Hennessey Demon 1700 Twin-Turbo perfectly blends Hennessey’s rich history of speed and performance with modern technological advancements. For those lucky enough to own one, it’s a piece of high-performance art, a collector’s item that will surely leave a lasting legacy in the universe of hypercars.
