Cadillac has unveiled its new Opulent Velocity Concept, an impressive glimpse of all-electric luxury and performance, merging advanced technology and pushing the envelope of the future of electric hypercars.

Cadillac’s concept offers two distinct driver experiences: Opulent and Velocity. The Opulent mode emphasizes the luxury of time, providing an immersive, hands-free experience through Level 4 autonomous driving. With advanced features like a full widescreen display and Augmented Reality Head-Up Display (AR HUD), this mode transforms travel into a multi-sensory experience. Cadillac’s exploration into the scientific properties of sound and light is evident throughout the cabin, where curated art, entertainment, and ambient lighting create a sophisticated, personalized environment.

Velocity mode is all about performance. When activated via a multi-functional controller, the vehicle transitions from autonomous to high-performance mode, unveiling the steering wheel and pedals. The front seats, designed to support the driver during high-speed maneuvers, are mounted directly to the door, enhancing stability. Velocity mode takes inspiration from Cadillac’s Blackwing track-proven engineering, incorporating a “Ghost Car” function on the HUD screen. This feature guides drivers through a competitive driving course, allowing them to track and improve their lap times, and access information about road conditions and vehicle settings.

The Opulent Velocity’s Gilded Pearl exterior features a dramatic, low-slung profile, highlighted by distinct butterfly doors, Cadillac’s vertical lighting signature, and a 3D illuminated grille.

The interior features a seamless flow of draped surfaces, a 3D information-enabled widescreen display, and a racing-inspired Y-shaped steering wheel. Take note of the metallic dark blue “Selene” and metal brush finishes and the integration of 3D printing technology.
