
Porsche Penske Motorsport has once again cemented its dominance in endurance racing by securing its 20th overall victory at the prestigious 24 Hours of Daytona. The No. 7 Porsche 963, driven by Felipe Nasr, Nick Tandy, and Laurens Vanthoor, led a masterclass performance to claim the top spot on the podium. With this win, Porsche Penske Motorsport celebrated its second consecutive Daytona triumph, solidifying its place at the pinnacle of motorsport.
This year’s race featured 61 cars across four classes battling it out on the 3.56-mile Daytona International Speedway road course. From the green flag at 1:40 PM, the Porsche Penske Motorsport entries showcased their prowess, with the No. 7 car taking control in the final stretch after an intense competition. The sister car, the No. 6 Porsche 963, driven by Matt Campbell, Mathieu Jaminet, and Kévin Estre, claimed third place, marking a stellar start to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for the team. The Porsche 963 led 517 of the 781 laps. The No. 7 car emerged victorious, while the No. 6 car rounded out the pdoium in third place.

For Nick Tandy, the win was historic—he became the first driver ever to claim overall victories in all four major 24-hour endurance races: Daytona, Le Mans, Nürburgring, and Spa-Francorchamps.
“It’s an incredible feeling,” said Felipe Nasr, who celebrated his second consecutive Daytona victory. “This team worked tirelessly to make this possible, and I’m proud to be part of such a historic achievement.”
Roger Penske, CEO of Penske Corporation, praised the collective effort: “Both of our Porsche 963s delivered impeccable performances. Starting the season with a win at Daytona for the second year in a row is extraordinary.”
The 24 Hours of Daytona also marked the beginning of the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup, where Porsche has taken the lead in the manufacturers’, team, and drivers’ championships. The endurance classic serves as a critical foundation for the upcoming season, which will includes races such as the 12 Hours of Sebring and Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta.
