As the GMC’s first and only all-electric supertruck, the 2026 HUMMER EV has returned with sharper tech, even more power, and off-road precision. With a name built on rugged military-grade dominance and reborn through zero-emissions innovation, the 2026 HUMMER EV signals where brute strength meets luxury.
This year’s model introduces the much-anticipated King Crab mode, an off-road rear-steering system that enhances trail maneuverability. Available standard across the 2X and 3X Pickup and SUV trims, King Crab mode allows the rear wheels to pivot faster than the front.
In a nod to loyalty and innovation, GMC will be releasing King Crab mode as an over-the-air (OTA) software update for all 2022–2025 HUMMER EV owners. It’s a promise fulfilled, originally teased as “Mystery Mode” and delivered with flair and functionality.
Underpinning these innovations is the updated hardware and vehicle integration software architecture that makes the 2026 HUMMER EV more capable and future-proof. According to GMC’s chief engineer, Al Oppenheiser, this is just the beginning of an ongoing cycle of evolution through OTA enhancements that extend the life and increase the capability of every HUMMER EV.
2026 HUMMER EV Packs Carbon Fiber Speed, Smart Power, and Future-Ready Technology
The crown jewel of the 2026 lineup is the HUMMER EV Carbon Fiber Edition—a limited release for the 3X Pickup and SUV that wears its exclusivity proudly, wrapped in a matte-finish Magnus Gray with Velocity Ember interior accents. Thanks to its 24-module battery pack and propulsion calibration, this limited-edition model rockets from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, making it the fastest HUMMER EV ever built.
It’s built to turn heads with standard 22-inch black carbon fiber wheels, all-terrain tires, carbon fiber inserts in the mirror caps and skid plate, and exclusive exterior and interior accents that communicate high-performance luxury. For the SUV version, an extra carbon fiber spare is included, while the pickup gains a black power tonneau cover to finish the look.
Beyond the Carbon Fiber trim, the 2026 HUMMER EV lineup introduces bidirectional charging—vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-home—putting power management into your own hands. In a blackout or off-grid scenario, your HUMMER can act as a generator, charging another EV or keeping your home powered (with proper equipment).
New Super Cruise updates include HOLCA (Hands-On Lane Change Assist) and Lane Change for Route, further integrating autonomous capability with an intuitive user experience. The HUMMER EV also debuts a revised damper tuning for better ride quality and a suite of connectivity options powered by OnStar, including Google Built-In and access to apps like Chrome, GameSnacks, and Prime Video on a 13.4-inch infotainment screen.
On the performance side, the 3X Pickup now delivers 1,160 horsepower and 13,000 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful electric truck in its class. And despite all this muscle, the interior hasn’t sacrificed comfort—premium finishes, customizable layouts, and fresh design themes like Granite Drift and Stealth Eclipse keep the HUMMER’s cabin as visually rich as its capabilities.
Production of the 2026 HUMMER EV kicks off later this year at GM’s Factory ZERO in Detroit, with availability expected at GMC EV dealers by the end of 2025. Pricing and official range estimates are expected closer to the launch, but one thing’s certain—this HUMMER EV is built to dominate roads, rocks, and anything in between.
