Honda has unveiled two electric vehicle prototypes at CES to launch its Honda 0 Series lineup: the Honda 0 Saloon and the Honda 0 SUV. With production slated for 2026 at the Honda EV Hub in Ohio, the Honda 0 Series marks the brand’s entry into an era defined by next-level battery-electric technology and immersive digital experiences. Adding further excitement to these prototypes is the newly announced ASIMO Operating System (OS), which promises to deliver a highly personalized and continuously evolving driving experience.
Honda 0 SUV Prototype
As the first Honda 0 Series model set to enter production, the Honda 0 SUV builds on the Space-Hub concept introduced at CES 2024. Its design concept—“Thin, Light, and Wise”—aims to create a roomy cabin, outstanding visibility, and optimal flexibility without sacrificing performance. By employing steer-by-wire technology, integrated control of the SUV’s steering, suspension, and brakes yields a crisp, responsive ride. A production version of this mid-size EV will debut in North America in early 2026, with a subsequent global rollout.

Honda 0 Saloon Prototype
The flagship of the Honda 0 Series, the Honda 0 Saloon stands out for its low-slung, sporty shape and spacious cabin. Building upon the concept revealed at CES 2024, this prototype encapsulates the same “Thin, Light, and Wise” ethos. The interior goes beyond sleek aesthetics by incorporating innovations in automated driving technology to match Honda’s Level 3 “eyes-off” approach. Launching in late 2026 in North America, the Honda 0 Saloon will also head to international markets, further solidifying Honda’s global commitment to EV excellence.

ASIMO OS: The Heart of the Honda 0 Series
Borrowing its iconic name from Honda’s famed humanoid robot, the new ASIMO OS drives the “Wise” aspect of the Honda 0 Series. This in-house operating system will manage every facet of the vehicle’s electronics—from advanced driver assistance and automated driving to in-vehicle infotainment. Thanks to over-the-air (OTA) updates, the system can fine-tune digital user experiences and integrated vehicle dynamics, elevating day-to-day driving while constantly adapting to owner preferences.

Advanced Driver Assistance and Level 3 Autonomy
Honda made history in 2021 by offering the first mass-market Level 3 automated driving system. With the Honda 0 Series, the automaker aims to expand its “eyes-off” technology to more driving scenarios and conditions, ultimately achieving zero traffic collision fatalities. By integrating original Honda AI, advanced cooperative intelligence, and unsupervised learning from Helm.ai, the Honda 0 Series will handle unexpected roadway challenges—whether it’s an animal crossing or debris in your lane—with confidence and finesse.

Honda’s Broader EV Vision
In collaboration with Renesas Electronics Corporation, Honda will develop a high-performance system-on-chip (SoC) for its future Honda 0 Series vehicles, streamlining how the ASIMO OS manages vital systems. Beyond in-vehicle technology, Honda’s Home Energy Management System demonstrates the company’s pledge to seamless EV ownership, making it simpler for users to manage charging and reduce their carbon footprint.
The Honda 0 Series—represented by the Honda 0 Saloon and Honda 0 SUV—ushers in a new chapter in Honda’s EV journey, defined by streamlined design, AI-driven insights, and unprecedented personalization. As these prototypes progress toward production in 2026, expect more revelations on how Honda’s forward-thinking solutions will reshape not just how we drive, but how we live in a world increasingly connected by advanced electrification.
